Shamrock Layered Cardstock Project – Free SVG File – a great little layered project to create to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. Why not try this layered project out on your Cricut. You could add in your own quotes and frame it in a lovely shadow box for a great St. Patrick’s Day decoration or a gift for a loved one/someone special.

St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated all over the world on the 17th March each year to mark the anniversary of St. Patrick’s death (Patron saint of Ireland). This information was found from www.history.com

Anyway, enough of the history lesson! Let’s get on with the project.
I’ve created this project because I love all the layered projects all over the internet at the moment that can be made on your Cricut. I’ve never created my own SVG’s before let alone layered ones! So I thought I’d give it a go and share it with you all.

To make this Shamrock Layered Cardstock project you will need:
- Cricut Maker – Shop Cricut
- Cricut design space – Cricut Design Space™
- 3D Shamrock SVG (link below)
- 2 different colours of card – 3 sheets of each colour
- Dark green from this pack: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/rainbow-card-a4-200-pack/651029-1000
- White from this pack: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/white-card-a4-100-pack/650983-1000
- For the Glitter version
- Glitter and Dark green from this pack: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/aqua-coloured-paper-pad-a4-24-pack/650960-1006
- Blue Light Grip Cricut Mat
- I used the blue light grip mat for all the layers.

For the 3D look, use foam pads in between the layers.
- Adhesive Foam Pads
- 3D Adhesive Foam Pads: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/white-foam-pads-5mm-x-5mm-x-3mm-440-pack/565425-1001
(NOTE: try to hide the foam pads under each layer by cutting them to size so you can’t see them).
For a flat look, use adhesive spray instead
- Optional – Adhesive Spray
(NOTE: Open the window and cover your workspace, this spray smells really strong and even though I had a A3 pad covering my workspace it still got everywhere lol).
The adhesive spray that I used is not showing online but I bought from Hobbycraft and it was called ‘Permanent Adhesive Spray 200ml’
(I am not affiliated with hobbycraft, I just love their stuff lol)
Settings:
Cricut settings
- Resize the SVG to fit the paper you are using
- Settings for A4: 18.996cm wide x 19cm length.
- Material setting for all layers
- LIGHT CARDSTOCK
NOTE: there may be better settings but these are the ones that worked for me.
Shamrock Layered Cardstock Project – SVG File Download
To access the file once downloaded, open the file and right click on the image. Click ‘save’ or ‘save as’ to your chosen folder. Open up cricut design space and upload the file.

Please note this has only been tested by myself on Cricut Design Space and Affinity Designer. I cannot guarantee that you will not have any issues when using this SVG on other apps / software.

Trying to download your free svg file for layered shamrock. I click on link to download and get a white page withe the shamrock in upper left hand corner.
Help please. I’m trying to create an anniversary card for my husband. We were married on March 17th.

I have just updated the blog with instructions on how to do this. Here are the instructions for PC:
